Clubs through to the champions league round of sixteen

Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain all booked their place in the last 16 on an action-packed night in the Champions League.

Antoine Griezmann scored a stoppage-time winner as Atletico Madrid maintained their 100 per cent record in Group D with a 2-1 win over FK Rostov at the Vicente Calderon Stadium.

Griezmann opened the scoring with his first goal in this season's competition but they were pegged back almost immediately by Iran international Sardar Azmoun.

And just as it looked like Diego Simeone's side were going to be frustrated, Griezmann popped up with the last-gasp winner.

Robert Lewandowski scored twice as Bayern Munich came from behind to beat PSV Eindhoven 2-1 at Philips Stadion and secure their place in the knockout stages.

Defeat ends PSV's hopes of qualifying from Group D and the Dutch side must now battle it out for a place in the Europa League.

Thomas Meunier volleyed home a stunning late winner as PSG guaranteed their place in the last 16 with a dramatic 2-1 win over Basel.

Luca Zuffi looked to have earned a point for the hosts when he conjured an opportunistic 25-yard finish in the 76th minute, equalising Blaise Matuidi's opener.

Meunier had a hand in that too, his shot diverted goalwards by Matuidi, but he had something special up his sleeve in the 90th minute as he produced a brilliant strike from the edge of the box.

It was hard luck on home goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik, who made a string of important saves to keep his side in the Group A contest.

The Swiss side would also finish with 10 men, Serey Die being shown a second yellow card late on.

A stunning strike from Marek Hamsik cancelled out Ricardo Quaresma's penalty as Napoli forced a 1-1 draw at Besiktas.

Portugal winger Quaresma crashed the ball in from the spot in the 78th minute after Nikola Maksimovic handled in the box but visiting captain Hamsik levelled four minutes later with a rasping drive from outside the area.

Napoli dominated possession and could have avenged their 3-2 defeat by Besiktas two weeks ago but Lorenzo Insigne and substitute Dries Mertens fluffed chances in injury time.

The Italians are top of Group B with seven points from four games while Besiktas have six.

Elsewhere in Group B, Eduardo Salvio's cool first-half penalty was enough to earn Benfica a valuable 1-0 win over Dynamo Kiev.

The hosts wasted many chances in the opening half before Domagoj Vida fouled Luisao in the penalty area on the verge of half-time and Salvio slotted home.

Benfica also had Ederson to thank after the young goalkeeper amended his error of bringing down Derlis Gonzalez to save Junior Moraes' penalty.

Napoli are top of Group B with seven points from four games with Benfica second on goal difference while Besiktas are hot on their tails a point behind in third.
