Army launches "Python Dance" against MASSOB, IPOB in Southeast

The Nigerian Army has announced Exercise Python Dance for Southeast Nigeria. The exercise is targeted against "violent attacks" by the Movement for the Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) and Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), the military says.

Unveiling Exercise Python Dance in Anambra State capital, Awka on Monday 28 November 2016,the Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, 82 Division Enugu, Col Sagir Musa, announced:
"The prevalent security issues such as armed robbery, kidnapping, abduction, herdsmen-farmers clashes, communal clashes and violent secessionist attacks, among others, would be targeted."
