In the taut thriller The Shallows, when Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy's ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.
Blake Lively, Óscar Jaenada, Brett Cullen.

Pros and Cons:
The Shallows has the most realistic looking shark out of any shark film I've watched. The tension builds up nicely throughout and every time the shark shows up is a treat. The only reservation that I have with this film is the end is a little silly. However you really have to suspend belief when it comes to any film that's based completely around a shark attacking people. They are always going to be unrealistic. Bottom line: The shark is awesome, hopefully this movie being successful at the box office will give way to more heavily plot based shark films; where the shark looks just as real as the one seen here.
