TO FOGIVE AND BE FORGIVEN



We all have either been hurt or hurt someone in one way or the other and we say "I forgive you " or "please forgive me"

Hmmm... What is forgiveness? This word is easier said than acted.

Forgiveness is the intentional and voluntary process by which a victim undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding an offense, lets go of negative emotions such as vengefulness, with an increased ability to wish the offender well.



Wow those were real!
Now you see that it's not as simple and easy as we all assume.
It's not just saying it or pretending about it. It has to be genuine.

ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS
Before you ask for forgiveness there are somethings you should ask yourself or think about;
* Why did you offend that Person?
* Did you think about the person before doing what you did?
* Was it intentional?
* Was it for your selfish desires?
* How would you feel if someone did the same thing to you?

It doesn't matter how/what we did to offend someone, the truth is we made the person feel bad and we need to seek forgiveness, not because the person is better than you but because life is too short for you to go about hurting people,and remember that what goes around comes around. It doesn't matter if the person accepts your apologies or not, what matters is you truly feeling sorry for your actions and apologies. That way you've placed a burning coal on that persons head.
Case settled .

THE FORGIVER
Okay, this is also a tough position to be in. You've been hurt by someone...I know it's tougher to be at the receiving end and forgiving isn't as easy as they keep preaching.
"Yes we are supposed to forgive and people expect it to be immediately"
Common people , we all hurt differently, especially when we've been terribly hurt and we go through four phases of forgiveness.
1. Shock/anger/sadness
2. Understanding why they were hurt
3. Thinking of how to forgive and forget/move on
4. Totally Forgiving and moving on.

So next time you hurt someone and you think they aren't forgiving, think again! They probably are going through one of the first three phases and with time they'll get to the fourth stage.

In a nutshell, we came into this world to Live and we have a limited time to do that too, so don't go about hurting people and if you've been hurt, forgive and move on. We shouldn't spend our little time hurting and being sad, mad or mean.
